TRC Engineering Services, Inc. was conceived and formed by Curtis H. Hunt and Herman C. Roark, Jr. Starting with five employees, Curtis and Herman formed their partnership on October 5, 1985 in Kerrville, Texas. In 1987 the company moved to 718 Alpine Drive and purchased an adjacent building in 1996. TRC Engineering Services, Inc. has grown from the original five employees to forty-five employees today.

TRC Engineering Services, Inc. has an affiliation with the following companies with offices located at the company facilities in Kerrville: Border to Border Communications, Inc. TRC Telecom, Inc. and Frontera Telecommunications. Through this diversification effort, TRC Engineering Services is able to provide value-added enhanced service offerings to their clients.

Border to Border Communications, Inc. is the Local Exchange Carrier for the rural portion of Zapata County, Texas, serving an area of approximately 850 square miles. Customers are currently served via a Basic Exchange Telephone Radio System (BETRS), conventional cable facilities and digital loop carrier facilities. Border to Border Communications has recently acquired a RUS Loan to install a FTTH system throughout its service area. The FTTH project is cost-efficient and provides our customers with all of the features available to customers who live in metropolitan areas.

TRC Telecom is a new enhanced switching service that was placed in operation in 2000. TRC Telecom has installed an EXS/2000 Enhanced Switching Platform in Dallas, Texas, designed to provide Calling Card (both Prepaid & Postpaid), International Callback, One Number Calling, Tandem Switching, 1+Resale, Prepaid local, Prepaid Cellular and many other enhanced services. The Company recently installed two CopperCom CSX Class 5/4 softswitches, one in Dallas as a redundant switch complementing the EXS/2000, the other in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Frontera Telecommunications is a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier certified by the Public Utility Commission of Texas to provide competitive services throughout the state of Texas. Frontera currently provides retail long distance, pre and post paid card services and wireless internet services in the Zapata, Texas area.
